A Look Back
by TFC's Pastoral Team

After a short sabbatical, TFC’s bi-weekly newsletter is finally back! As the first issue in the new year, our pastors would like to share some memorable moments from 2009.

My thoughts on 2009 run to the abundance of ministry opportunities the Lord gave. From Care Group to efforts to strengthen marriages (in February we had a wonderful time with most of the married couples in the church watching the movie "Fireproof" together), from CX to Truthwalk, we've seen the Lord making his presence felt on so many levels. We've rejoiced at baptisms and new members and special times that have highlighted our Children's Ministry. We've also grieved over losses, and have found once again that when we don't understand we do best to trust the Lord's purposes. And let's not forget the addition to our staff of Scott Stengele, which positions us to better serve our members as growth continues. Many of our congregation face significant challenges, either medical or financial or relational, and we as pastors want nothing more than to be able to help in whatever ways we can. May the Lord of the Church continue to equip the saints to build each other up!
- Tim Bowditch

2009 was a year to remember! TFC has experienced God’s grace and varied blessings in multiple ways. If I had to sum up 2009 in one phrase it would "joyful increase." Trinity has been experiencing increase and growth in virtually every area of its life. 2009 was no exception! In fact 2009 marked a year of unprecedented growth. One of these areas where we have experienced "joyful increase" has been in membership. We have grown an additional 20% from 2008 with 22 people joining TFC fellowship. Christianity Explored has been a second area where Trinity is continuously seeing increase. CX has averaged 15 people the last 2 courses, which exceeding previous averages. This growth has led to the addition of two more care groups taking us from six groups to eight groups in 2009.

We have been very blessed by God in all of these areas of our church life. But perhaps the most joyful increase in 2009 that it made it the most memorable was the addition of Scott Stengele to the pastoral team. Scott completed his internship in September and we celebrated his official ordination in October. Scott continues to bring much grace and joy to the team and this church in the various roles he fills. God has been very good to TFC in 2009! It was a memorable year!

- Steve Cassarino

As far as highlights from 2009, on a personal note, my ordination in October was certainly a highlight for me. It was encouraging for me to be able to have so many family members present that day sharing in the joy, especially my mom and dad. As far as other ministry highlights for me, it was an encouragement to see TruthWalk average between 2 to 3 dozen participants this last session. Also, leading two different care groups has provided an opportunity for rich fellowship with many members of the congregation, and this is always a blessing. God has been so good this past year, to him be all the glory.
- Scott Stengele
